Commercial Sexual Exploitation: Experiences of women involved in selling sex
Date: Tuesday 11th November, 9:30-13:00
Location: Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh, EH1 2JL
Facilitated by CSE Aware as a part of Women’s Support Project
What is commercial sexual exploitation? How is this issue framed in Scotland? What are the pathways into the ‘sex industry’, and how might these differ for specific groups, such as mothers, women who use substances, or migrant women?
To explore these questions and more, CSE Aware will deliver a session focused on the broader strategic context, as well as the realities and support needs of women. This session aims to equip staff with a better understanding of women’s experiences and offer practical strategies for having open, sensitive, and courageous conversations with women about their involvement in the ‘sex industry’.
Participants can expect a participatory session that includes small group discussions, a quiz, and case studies!
About CSE Aware: CSE Aware is a platform created by the Women’s Support Project where frontline staff from services across Scotland can increase and share their knowledge and skills around commercial sexual exploitation. For more information, please visit: www.cseaware.org
