Join us on Thursday, 13th March, for the next Edinburgh Advice Network Event which will be focused on Immigration and Supporting Migrant Communities. This In Person event will take place in the morning at the Greyfriars Charteris Centre, and will be followed by a related training session in the afternoon. Those wanting to attend both sessions must book each session separately. A networking lunch will be offered between the sessions.

We will be joined by Rebecca Kay from Migration Policy Scotland, who will talk about their work on Migrants Facing Financial Disadvantage and their Needs for Support. An overview of Immigration advice and services will also be included, provided by Shaina Gabi, Citizens Advice Edinburgh. The presentations will be followed by Roundtable Discussion focused on Supporting Migrant Communities.
There will be opportunities to connect with peers throughout the morning and to raise current issues, including at the General Meeting.

This course includes two short sessions. Henri Krishna from Child Poverty Action Group is joining us to deliver the first session which focuses on benefit entitlement for people with No Recourse to Public Funds. Shaina Gabi, Citizens Advice Edinburgh will then be giving an overview of rights across a range of other areas such as housing, employment, health and social care. She will put this into context exploring the delivery of advice and support in practice.
Please note the training session is only available to Edinburgh Advice Network Members, and spaces on the course are limited, therefore we can only accept a maximum of three advisers per organisation.
