Jo Baldock, Advice Network Coordinator, provides an overview and update on the Edinburgh Advice Partnership:
The Edinburgh Advice Partnership (EAP), formerly the Income Maximisation and Poverty Group, brings together advice providers and key strategic partners with a shared vision and purpose. Unlike the Edinburgh Advice Network (EAN) which gathers a broad group of practitioners, the EAP consists of sector leaders and serves as the steering group for the EAN. Each network member can be represented in the EAP, either directly, through a partner organisation, or via the Advice Network Coordinator, and a subgroup of the EAP supports the EAN with event planning.
This is the first of a series of regular updates that will be provided on the EAP activities and as such we will attempt to provide an overview of the main strands of work that the EAP is involved with. This includes:
Edinburgh Partnership LOIP 1 – Enough Money to Live On
Collaboration and focused discussion on issues including Council Tax Debt Recovery; Social Security Scotland Escalation Routes, Appeals and Decision Making; and Scottish Child Payment
Edinburgh Advice Network
Affordable Credit Action Plan
Data, Outcomes and Needs Assessment
Projects including Cash-First and Child Poverty Accelerator Fund
