Home Energy Scotland: Autumn Advisory Forum - Limited Places Remain!

Niall Murphy from Home Energy Scotland updates that limited places remain on their upcoming advisory forum. Email partnerships@se.homeenergyscotland.org now to secure your place.

Autumn Advisory Forum

We are hosting the Autumn Advisory Forum on October 9th at our office in Orchard Brae House, Edinburgh (full address and directions below). We’ve been hosting the forums for over a year now and we are delighted to offer another opportunity for frontline advisors to learn about a specific topic, network with advisors from a range of organisations and enjoy a lunch together.

Orchard Brae House, 30 Queensferry Rd, Edinburgh EH4 2HS

The Energy Price Cap is going up by 10% on October 1st, meaning a typical dual-fuel household paying will be paying £1717 per annum (direct debit customers). This price increase will put more households across the southeast of Scotland at risk of fuel poverty this winter. Therefore, this as an ideal time to discuss the subject of fuel poverty. Changeworks and Home Energy Scotland are both passionate about supporting households in fuel poverty.  Together we will deliver a session discussing the following:

  • Causes and impacts of fuel poverty

  • How to identify fuel poor households

  • Supporting fuel poor households

  • Scottish Government funding

Please see below an agenda for the day:

  • 10am                    Arrival and introductions

  • 10.30am             Presentation from Home Energy Scotland and Changeworks – Affordable Warmth Services

  • 11.30am             Group Activity

  • 12.15pm             Networking lunch

Following feedback from the last forum we are going to limit the number of attendees to 25 and no more than 2 advisors per organisation. However, if you have more advisors wishing to attend, please let us know and we'll get in touch if there are spaces available. Please reply with the name(s) of the advisors interested in attending by 25th September 2024.

Call Listening

We would also like to offer ‘call listening’ to attendees on the day, which will take place in the afternoon after the forum.  Call listening is a great way to learn about the Home Energy Scotland service and hear our advisors deliver it.   There is a limit on the number of people we can accommodate.  Therefore, we’ll offer this on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We usually pair guests with an advisor for two hours but can be flexible.  Please let us know if you are interested.'
