New report highlights housing challenges facing Edinburgh families
Low Income Families Together (LIFT), the Poverty Alliance, and Shelter Scotland, have published Empty Promises: Families’ Experiences of Housing in Edinburgh, a peer-led research report exploring families’ experiences of social housing, temporary accommodation and private sector leasing in Edinburgh.
Drawing on the lived experiences of local families, the report highlights the impact of unsuitable housing, delayed repairs and access to support services on health and wellbeing, while setting out practical recommendations for housing providers and policymakers. It is a valuable resource for anyone working across housing, poverty, health, community development and family support.
We encourage network members to read and share the report, attached below, to help inform ongoing efforts to improve housing outcomes for Edinburgh families. For more information please contact admin@povertyalliance.org
