OPFS: *NEW*Safe and Secure Tenancies Service

Jenifer Hamilton, Regional Co-ordinator at One Parent Families Scotland, updates Edinburgh Advice Network members on their new advice and support service for single parents living in, or hoping to move into the private rental sector.
'We are delighted to now share with sector colleagues that our NEW Safe and Secure Tenancies service is now taking referrals. This service offers tailored support for single parents who currently live in a private rental tenancy, or they are looking to move into the private rented sector.
Our Safe and Secure Tenancy - Family support workers are able to support single parents to feel more empowered, know their rights and address housing issues before they escalate to crisis, preventing homelessness and promoting housing stability for single parent families.

Access to flexible financial grants related to fees and housing costs
Single parents accessing this service will also be offered a full financial health check and dedicated support to access and apply for any missed entitlement.
