Kaelynn Narita from the3million reaches out to Edinburgh Advice Network members to request your insights into the barriers EU citizens face in accessing benefits and support as part of ongoing research.

Research request from the3million: share your insights

the3million is currently conducting research on the barriers that EU citizens and their family members face in accessing mainstream support because of their pre-settled status.

Part of this research involves speaking to advisers who have helped clients with pre-settled status, to hear about their experiences.

They are interested in hearing about:

  • The typical challenges people with NRPF and pre-settled status face when trying to access support

  • Specific barriers to accessing essential services (housing, social care, financial support, etc.)

  • Case examples that illustrate the policy's impact (anonymised)

  • Your professional perspective on what needs to change

the3million is equally interested in speaking with people with lived experience of facing these barriers. If you have supported any clients who faced barriers because of their pre-settled status, who are no longer in crisis,  and who would be willing to participate in the research, the3million would love to talk to them. Interviews with people with lived experience are remunerated as a thank you for their time.

If you, or any of your clients, are interested in contributing to the research, please contact Kaelynn Narita (kaelynn.narita@the3million.org.uk)
