Network News and Chat Guidelines
Find out more about how you can use Network News and Chat to interact with other Edinburgh Advice Network Members and our Guidelines for use.
Edinburgh Advice Network News
This is a space where news and information can be shared with the network, facilitated by the Advice Network Coordinator. Members are encouraged to participate by creating their own posts, which could include information about new resources, events, or updates related to your agency.
To create a post, please contact the Advice Network Coordinator, who will set you up with an account. This account will be linked to your usual EAN website login, allowing you to create posts directly from our website. Posts can include photos, files, and attachments, though this is not required.
Please note that there are file size limits and certain file types that may not be allowed due to security concerns (e.g., .xls files may be excluded due to their ability to contain executable commands). If you need any support or guidance when creating a post, feel free to reach out to the Advice Network Coordinator.
All posts must be approved by the Edinburgh Advice Network before they are published, so please bear with us, as this may take a few days.
Edinburgh Advice Network Chat
Edinburgh Advice Network Chat is a space where members can connect with us, and with one another. Whilst Network News is primarily a space for making announcements and sharing information or updates, the focus of Chat is on member to member discussion. Members can start and participate in discussions, ask and to respond to questions of their peers, and support one another.
Chat will not be monitored by Edinburgh Advice Network 24/7 however we will review posts on a weekly basis and respond to specific enquires about the network and/or if any action needs to be taken. Thank you for your patience.
Be Respectful:
We strive to create a safe and inclusive space for all members. Please treat others and their contributions with respect. Any posts that are discriminatory, harmful, or malicious will be removed.
Be Kind:
Support your colleagues as you would like to be supported yourself.
This is Not a Commercial Space:
This chat is intended for discussions and information exchange among members, not for selling goods or services. Any advertising that is deemed spam will be removed.
Handle Information Carefully:
Avoid publishing content that could violate copyright or infringe on the privacy of others.
Report Concerns:
If you have any concerns about posts in this space, please report them to the Edinburgh Advice Network.
These guidelines will be reviewed regularly and may be updated as the Advice Network sees fit.
