WISE GROUP – FULLY FUNDED “HEAT” SERVICE
Brief Summary: Wise Group’s fully funded 'HEAT' service provides free one-to-one tailored support to households across the UK struggling with energy bills or at risk/experiencing an energy crisis. They offer end-to-end support from advice right through to advocacy to help stabilise household energy pressures and prevent issues escalating.
As a leading social enterprise with over 40 years’ experience in Employability, Community Justice, and Energy Advice, the Wise Group understand the real impact of the energy crisis on vulnerable households. They’re contacted by people choosing between heating and eating, households forced to off-grid to avoid daily standing charges and children taking cold showers because switching on the boiler is unaffordable.
Proven impact
Last year alone HEAT:
Supported 23,000+ households across Scotland, England & Wales
Reduced £371,000 in fuel debt by directly negotiating with energy suppliers on behalf of customers
Delivered £4.7m in energy savings
Who we can support:
The HEAT service is available to households in Scotland, England and Wales experiencing energy-related difficulties, with a particular focus on supporting the most vulnerable households, including those that:
Are struggling with energy costs or fuel debt
Are unemployed/low incomes
Are at risk of going off supply
Require support to stabilise their situation
Are over 65 or have disabilities / health conditions requiring higher energy use

Households are supported through:
Immediate, personalised support – referrals picked up within 1 working day with a dedicated energy mentor providing 1-to-1 expert support
Crisis support – fuel vouchers or food vouchers (if eligible) for those at risk or off supply
Energy debt help – direct negotiation with energy suppliers to reduce debt and agree manageable repayment plans (last year alone we reduced £371,000 of customer fuel debt)
Billing support – help to resolve incorrect, complex or disputed energy bills
Prevent disconnection – support to keep households on energy supply
Money-saving energy advice – practical support to reduce energy use, cut waste and keep bills as low as possible
Access to grants & schemes – help applying for financial support and energy schemes
Stabilising households – supporting households from crisis to a more stable situation
