Understanding and Responding to the “Fairer Pathway to Settlement” Proposal
This session will aim to:
Provide an overview of the proposal
Explore its potential implications for people seeking asylum and refugees
Outline practical ways to respond effectively to the public consultation
Create a space for discussion, shared learning, and reflection
We will be joined by our Policy Manager at Scottish Refugee Council, who will provide an overview of the proposed policy changes and their potential impact, not only on refugees and people seeking asylum, but on all migrants if implemented. She will also guide us through the public consultation process, including the questions asked and how to respond in a well-informed and effective way. You can access the consultation here:
This will be followed by a panel discussion with a Q&A session. Please submit any question would like to raise through the session registration form. Panellists will be confirmed soon. The agenda and joining instructions will be shared closer to the event
We are aware that several sessions are taking place that address the same topic. However, in addition to discussing the policy and consultation, we are inviting a range of community representatives and gathering concerns and feedback. This will contribute to our organisational response to the consultation and can also support your own response as an organisation or community.
