NEW amending regulations on LCWRA changes in April - updated resources from Housing Systems

Julia Service from Housing Systems, shares important updates relating to their December 2025 LCWRA Changes Workshop, following the amendment of the regulations last week. The updated materials have been added to the Resources section of the Edinburgh Advice Network website.

'Last week the government published new amending Regulations that expand the definition of ‘pre-2026 claimant’.

This has opened up a new window of opportunity for many claimants, and means that some claimants (who may have thought were too late) haven’t missed the deadline for getting the higher ‘protected’ rate of LCWRA.

We have recorded a session explaining how these new Regulations have changed the advice we were previously giving. Find the link to this and password in the Resources section of the Edinburgh Advice Network website.

We have also:

• updated the Housing Systems website

• reviewed our ‘important deadlines’ summary sheet

• produced a new flowchart

And we are also updating our Preparing for the LCWRA Changes e-learning course which should be available soon.
