LINKnet Mentoring Ltd have a range of other services in Edinburgh:
1. Mentoring
We run a long-standing mentoring and befriending scheme, offering one-to-one support from qualified and trained volunteer mentors. These mentors assist minority ethnic individuals in achieving their employment, education, and personal development goals, while also helping to increase their civic participation.
In addition, our community mentoring programme addresses isolation and loneliness among minority ethnic people.
2. Volunteering and Work Experience
We help service users find volunteer placements to gain valuable UK work experience — a crucial step toward securing employment. Job seekers who lack UK experience are also invited to volunteer with LINKnet or partner organisations for one to two days per week.
3. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
Generic English Classes: Offered at beginner-to-intermediate and intermediate-to-advanced levels.
ESOL for Specific Purposes (ESP): This course focuses on improving writing and speaking skills while combining employability training and sector-specific knowledge to enhance job readiness.
4. Befriending
Our befriending programme supports individuals who need language, social, or emotional assistance — including English learners and newcomers to the UK. The programme helps participants improve their English, build community connections, and reduce isolation and loneliness.
