Resources to Support Accessible Intercultural Communication

Migration Policy Scotland’s policy laboratory, which Becka Kay presented at our network meeting in March 2025 and which a number of Edinburgh Advice Network members are involved in, is producing some practical resources.

The first of these are a handbook and wall poster to support accessible communication styles, with simple do’s and don’ts and with visual tips and reminders for front line and reception staff.

These are designed to increase staff confidence in communicating with service users for whom English is not a first language. You can download printable copies of both by following the link below:

Showcase Event-Event - Tackling Financial Disadvantage in Migrant Households

If you are interested in this work, consider attending our upcoming Showcase Event - Tackling Financial Disadvantage in Migrant Households, taking place on Wednesday 3rd September in Edinburgh.

During this event, Migration Policy Scotland, partners and colleagues will share the learning and outcomes emerging from two years of work identifying the barriers and challenges that underpin poverty and financial disadvantage in migrant households. During the event, more information will be shared about all the pathfinder initiatives and resources which are being developed.

To attend the event, please register using the link below.
