the3million Welfare Justice Event Edinburgh

Date: Thursday 24 September, 5 - 6.30pm

Location: The Melting Pot, Edinburgh

Registration: registration form

Thanks to all the Edinburgh Advice Network members who contributed to this project by sharing your insights and connecting us to others.

We would be delighted if you could join us for an event celebrating the conclusion of the the3million Welfare Justice Project on 24th Sept in Edinburgh.

Over the past year, this project has explored how EU Citizens and their families holding pre-settled status navigate accessing welfare and housing support. Their experiences show that pre-settled status can often act as a hidden No Recourse To Public Funds condition.  Through interviews, the Welfare Experience Forum meetings and the involvement of caseworkers, we have gathered important evidence and, crucially, heard directly from people affected by the system.

This event will be an opportunity to:

  • Launch the Welfare Justice Project report

  • Bring together people who have contributed to the project

  • Meet in person after months of online engagement;

  • Share experiences, reflections and stories, and celebrate everyone's contribution to the project.

📅 Date: Thursday 24 September 2026

🕔 Time: 5.00pm–6.30pm

📍 Venue: The Melting Pot, Edinburgh

Your contribution has been an important part of this project, and we would love to have the opportunity to come together in person to mark its conclusion and reflect on the journey we have shared. We also welcome those who have not participated in the project, but would like to find out more.

We hope you can join us.

Please complete the registration if you are able to join us, and we will share further details closer to the event.
