Winter Advisory Forum - Advisor Wellbeing

Gemma Sandie from Home Energy Scotland provides feedback on their recent Winter Advisory Forum which was organised in partnership with Edinburgh Advice Network and focused on Advisor Wellbeing. The slides can be accessed in the resources section of our website.



Event summary and follow up information:


Gemma Sandie – Home Energy Scotland – HES Champion Workshop


Attendees became HES Champions after receiving some energy efficiency advice from Gemma Sandie. Those at the event can now champion what was learned at home, helping us feel warmer, whilst saving money on fuel bills. Gemma highlighted Citizens Advice’s helpful calculator to help you understand how much your electrical appliances cost - Compare how much electrical appliances cost to use - Citizens Advice Scotland.


 

Chris Earle - Money Advice Scotland – Transaction Analysis Workshop 


Chris provided attendees of the event with a (provisional) Transactional Analysis driving license, by taking us through our different ‘driving types’. Chris would like to highlight the Money Advice Scotland resources and training on Workforce Wellbeing to all Edinburgh Advice Network Members. A range of training courses are available, including the Transactional Analysis workshop, and can be booked online. These interactive workshops are free for advisers, support workers, managers and any other roles delivering free money advice and advice-adjacent fields, including housing and welfare rights. These workshops are delivered online and are free of charge to the free money advice sector in Scotland. 


 

Becky Whittaker – Edinburgh Health and Social Care – The Wellbeing Check-in 


Becky shared with us her up and coming Wellbeing Check-in, which is a facilitated, reflective space to listen and share with other advisors in Edinburgh. The monthly space will be facilitated by Becky from Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership on MS Teams. Becky has led several reflective practice and wellbeing groups across homelessness, drugs and alcohol and poverty prevention services. The group have a maximum capacity of 8 advisors.

Future events!


Edinburgh Advice Network


The Edinburgh Advice Network is a network of advice agencies in Edinburgh covering the full broad spectrum of advice from Welfare Rights and Debt through to Housing, Immigration, Energy and Employment. The network holds regular events and circulates information between members on a continuous basis. The next event, planned for March, will focus on Immigration and supporting people from abroad. The final date and full details will be circulated soon. Spring Advisory Forum
